Yes, most of the time I love to browse different shops to find a suitable gift for someone I care for. Finding a suitable gift idea and then getting the item can be time-consuming, but it represents our care and love for the person we are presenting the gift. If the person likes the present, the time we spend to find it worths every second of it.
In my country, we mostly give gifts to others on a special day like a birthday, a wedding ceremony, and on an anniversary day. It's a widely followed custom to exchange gifts during the Christmas holidays. We often buy gifts for a classmate, colleague or a teacher on their farewell days.
Besides, we often buy candies to children and flowers to our relatives whenever we visit their house.
Usually, I receive gifts from my family and friends. Most of the gifts, I have received so far, were given to me on my birthday by my parents, grandparents and a few close buddies.
The future is always uncertain and unpredictable, and it is impossible to anticipate it accurately. It is also true when it comes to understanding what types of gifts people will exchange in the future and on what occasions. It may happen that people will move for virtual gifts rather than a physical ones – like someone will send electronic cards or flowers or wishes on the occasions instead of the real-life stuff. They will also give electronic points that the receiver could use to buy the gifts they like.
People in my country buy a large number of gifts of varied types marking different occasions. The gift range may include a pair of jeans, a cardigan, a nice dress, a box of chocolate, jewellery, cars, electronic items, mobile phones, gift cards and so on.
I enjoy receiving and giving gifts a lot. Both giving and receiving gifts are associated with happiness and joy. When I receive any gift (regardless of the price and its utility) I feel very glad. Similarly, when I give someone a gift and understand that it also makes them happy, I feel a different type of satisfaction that I do not feel in any other way. Moreover, gift exchange trends and customs strengthen our bonds and express that we care. This is why I love this tradition so much. It's like sharing life with people with care and love.
I think the core value of exchanging gifts has remained the same - to share our love and happiness. But the items that we exchange have changed. Nowadays, we like to buy gifts for a wide number of people including our colleagues or neighbours and the range of gifts also is wide.
Well, that's an interesting question and it reminds me of a gift that a close friend of mine gave me a few weeks ago. Maria went to Italy last November to visit her grandparents and after she returned, she gave me a perfume made in Italy. 'Gucci Premiere Eau De Parfum' that she gave me was expensive and I really appreciate her gift.
Yes, I most often buy a gift on such an occasion. I do it as it is a broadly followed convention in our country, and the idea of giving a host some sort of gifts is exciting, especially when the host loves the gift. Besides, it's a token of appreciation and a good gesture as a guest.
When it is my turn, I give gifts to my family members, my friends, my relatives and my neighbours on different occasions. Moreover, when I go to visit someone, I take some sort of gift for my host.
Christmas and New Year's eve are the best time for exchanging gifts. Apart from that, weddings, birthdays, graduation days, anniversaries etc are common occasions when people in my country usually give gifts.
