Ummm… actually, my parents love to celebrate our birthdays and I love to have those happy events. I have three brothers and sisters and all of our birthdays are celebrated - sometimes at home and sometimes at restaurants. However, my parents avoid celebrating their own birthdays by all means. It was a perplexing issue for me as a child but now I realise why many adults do not like to celebrate their own birthdays.
Yes, I do. Although it is not very huge party but I make sure that there is a party and that I have all my near and dear ones surrounding me during my birthday.
I usually am not a very big birthday fan. I think there should not be any reason to celebrate life and oneself. I am one of those who would give myself or any one else gifts out of the box with no reasons and at any time of the year.
Indeed, I love to receive clothes (attires) books, as well as footwears. But it doesn'tmatter for me that gift is expensive or not. Because I surmise that gifts are gestures of love. So, I happily accept all the gifts.
Well, there are ample ways in which children celebrate their natal days. Some children love to cut the cake in order to celebrate it, whereas few children go out for celebrating with their near and dear ones. Moreover, few children prefer to do some charity work for inner contentment.
Actually, two months ago, there was my birthday and I celebrated it with my comrades at school by cutting cake and at my abode with my family. Honestly speaking, I received ample present on that day and all gifts were fantabulous.
Well, just as birthdays are relevant for most people, the same applies to me. It is an important event for me because it doesn’t come often, but rather once a year; therefore, I treat it as a particular day, unlike the rest of the days. I do a lot of activities that I usually do not do on an average day. For instance, having fun on the beach and spending time in a restaurant.
Yes, I have been celebrating my birthday since childhood, making it a very special day. I have not skipped any celebratory moment of my birthday to date.
That’s an interesting question, but I would say that my region’s celebration of children’s birthdays mostly depends on the background the child comes from. In other words, wealthy families celebrate their child’s special day on a high note, giving him/her a fantastic moment. However, children from underprivileged backgrounds may be neglected due to a lack of money, or parents may see no reason to make that day memorable for their kids.
Usually, in India, friends are called at home, and they have a small cake-cutting celebration with indoor games like passing the parcel, Chinese whisper, etc., and snacks like samosa, cake, and wafers. The children do get a return gift from the birthday kid before going home.
I would kick off by saying that, before my birthday last year, I made an arrangement with my childhood friend, an event planner, about my birthday because I wanted to make it massive. After discussing with him, we booked a top-rated hotel nearby, ordered some food from a well-known restaurant in advance and hired sound systems to entertain the people. After that, I began sending invitations to my family and friends to come over in the next 28 hours. During the event, we danced, ate and drank. It is a day I will never forget because it was wonderful.
I celebrated my birthday last year in a very different way. I went to Amritsar and spent my entire day in the golden temple, and I also helped in the service of langar during lunch. Then I visited Gobindgarh fort to learn more about the Punjab culture and had Punjabi delicacies makai di roti and sarso da sag. The dancers also performed folk dance bhangra, and I danced my heart out to the tunes of Punjabi songs. Indeed, one of the best birthdays outside my hometown Mumbai.
Yes, there is a slight difference between how I used to celebrate my birthday and now. In the last, I used to depend on my parents whenever it was my birthday because I neither knew anything about birthday celebrations nor had money to celebrate. At times they tend to ignore they see it as unnecessary. Now I take care of myself and treat my birthday as significant as anything. I hardly forget to celebrate it even though my past could have impacted me, but I always remember the time comes, thanks to the alarm in my smartphone calendar.
Yes, there is a huge difference; I used to celebrate my birthday with the whole family in the afternoon, and evening used to go out with my friends for dinner and parties. However, most of my friends have left the country and settled abroad. So, I do not have my close friends to join me for the celebration. Hence, I have started travelling during my birthday week, exploring the places and culture and uniquely spending the birthday.
The type of birthday gift I like to get is a birthday cake. I admire cakes because it’s sweet. On my 25th birthday, my sisters collaborated to buy me a huge one, and they did it on my blank side. So it raised my level of felicity because it was a big surprise. I never expected that. I enjoyed it and kept the remaining portion in my refrigerator.
I used to love getting dresses and perfumes on my birthday. I once remember my whole college group gifting me 21 birthday gifts in a box for my 21st birthday, and they included all the useful things, so I loved the surprise and would never forget that birthday. For the past few years, I would like to get presents in the form of cash so I can decide on buying my choice of things.
Well, let me guess, okay, I would like to say that, on my seventh birthday, there was a positive coincidence in my house. It happened on the day that my father had been paid at work. So on his way home from work, he bought fried chicken and some drinks for me. When he came, he told me I should consume all if only I could, and when I finished, he would like to take me out for a minor party. However, surprisingly it bucketed down that evening, so we had no option but to call off the outing.
I remember my 5th birthday very distinctively as I celebrated the birthday in the school by distributing chocolates and a compass box filled with pencils, scented erasers, and sharpeners to my classmates. After returning from school, my mum decorated our building terrace with balloons and festoons, and the caterers arrived for the food. It was a grand celebration, and even my relatives were called, along with our friends. I also remember having a birthday cake with a train theme.
Absolutely yes, many people in my country like to enjoy their birthday with a party, in fact for most people a mega party indeed. Many can go as far as requesting a loan from peers, banks or even from a family member just to make their birthday a top-notch. There has been intense competition concerning how people celebrate birthdays in my country. As a result, some people run into debt because they sometimes borrow money to enjoy themselves.
Yes, nowadays people party for various occasions including birthdays, and small celebrations like promotions also calls for parties. Normally these parties are enjoyed with a small group of close ones, and there are food and drinks arranged by the banquet where the parties are thrown.
Yes, I do love them. There is so much fun associated with birthdays. You meet people, friends, play, put cakes and then sing birthday songs. We dance and sing and so much more. It is like we become kids once again.
I do enjoy birthdays. Birthdays bring along with them so much positivity and a feeling of freshness. It seems as if it is another chance to be someone else, someone better. You meet friends, enjoy with them, laugh at the silly things done and plan for the great future ahead.
Yes. No matter a person is rich or poor, there surely is some kind of party going on during a birthday. There are people who are very extravagant and don’t think twice before spending on their birthdays while some make budgets to make sure there is a good party on birthday. Birthdays in my country are often taken as something that brings lot of people together.
I went to the birthday party of one of my closest buddies a few months ago. Some other intimate friends were also invited to the party. A beautiful birthday cake was made marking the day. The dishes were delicious too. I gave a nice looking T-shirt and a small perfume bottle for my friend and he was happy with the gifts. He also received many other gifts on this day. We all enjoyed the party at the rooftop of his residence. It was a memorable event indeed for all of us.
My last birthday, I would say was a very normal one. I went out with my close friends to a near by beach and had lots of fun there. Coming back I enjoyed quality time with my parents.
Of course, there is a huge difference. As, when I was younger, I celebrated my natal day by distributing candies among my friends (peers), but nowadays, I always arrange (buddies) party for my friends and also celebrate my birthday at my home.
I celebrated my birthday last year. My parents do not miss the opportunity to celebrate any of our birthdays! It was mostly a family celebration where a few of my relatives and friends were present.
Well, I was born on September 20th in 1996. So every year, I celebrate my birthday on the 20th of September.
I still remember my 13th birthday. It started out with no plan and we decided to just have fun within my family members but as it turned out to be, people started coming just like that, some saw my father getting cake and others simply wanted to wish me. It was a surprise of its own kind and we had almost 50 people in the house. It was real fun, meeting people and then opening the gifts.
